Drywall repair is one of the most difficult works to do in any drywall related job, not only because drywall work is really messy to do in a furnished or occupied place but because we are dealing with textures done with different machines and different materials that were used at that time, every drywaller have a preference of how they like the drywall mud to work with, is why is important to choose a good contractor with a lot of experience or the drywall repairs are not going to look even close to the surrounding areas.

What can you expect when we do Drywall Repair.

  1. Before starting any work everything close to the Drywall Repair have to be protected like the floors will be covered with tarps or construction paper and plastic will be used in any furniture, doors, windows, trim, etc.

    If needed a curtain of plastic can be used to block the dust from going outside the work area like into a leaving room or a kitchen, always trying to contain the dust as much as possible.

  2. The Drywall Repair will be cut to a square and backing will be installed to be able to screw the new drywall.

  3. The new drywall will be installed.

  4. The Drywall Repair will be taped and textured to match the surrounding area.

Yes, If the repair is not bigger than 2 square feet Yes we can give you an estimate for a Drywall Repair over the phone, you can send us a few pictures from different angles and answer a few questions.

For bigger repairs is recommended that we go in person and take a look and know exactly what needs to be done to give you an accurate and free estimate.

Yes, drywall repair is a dusty work and we protect everything close to it using plastic, paper, etc.

If the drywall texture that we are going to match is done with a texture sprayer machine we have to protect it even more since the drywall compound is sent with pressure to the wall or ceiling.

Yes, If the repair is small like around 2 square feet and you do not need us to do the Priming and Paint we can try to finish it the same day.

If the repair is bigger than 2 square feet or if you want us to do the primer and paint then finishing a Drywall Repair in a day is not possible and the minimum amount of time needed will be 2 days since the drywall compound and drywall texture has to dry before it is primed and painted.

We can let you know how many days your drywall repair is going to take to be finished in the estimate that you will receive for the work.

Yes we can Prime and Paint the Drywall Repair, we can use the primer and paint supplied by you or we can go to the store and have the paint matched.

Is always better to use the paint that was used Before but if you do not have any left we can go to the store and match it.

A perfect match is never guaranteed since the matching is done by the store and is not in our hands, this is why if the repair is in a small area like a small wall or ceiling we recommend painting the whole area this way you will not see a difference between the new and old paints.

Because around the repair drywall tape have to be installed to prevent cracking where the new drywall meets the old wall and to cover and hide this paper a minimum of 12 inches of drywall mud around it is needed.

If we skip this step when the paint is done you will be able to see a bump where the paper is located, is for this reason that the finished repair is going to be always bigger that the measurement of the initial drywall damage.

No, we do not give any warranties when we do drywall cracks repairs because one of the reasons that cracks appear is because the place is moving or setting down, places move so little that you can not feel it but since drywall is not flexible even with the smallest movement the ceilings or walls will crack.

To repair the cracks we cut a little "v" notch following the crack, fill up this notch with drywall mud, install drywall tape along the crack and then apply drywall mud around it finishing with the texture to match the surrounding areas, this is the same process that every contractor use, there is nothing different that can be done and if the place is still moving or setting down the crack is going to appear again no matter what we do.

Is why the cracks can be repaired but there is no warranty that they will not appear again in the future, they can appear the next day, month or year is why we do not give any warranties when fixing cracks because is not in our hands.
